5 Months
2 Books
3 Reference's
Plenty of practise and tests
After an amazing amount of work in 5 months, It finally came to an end(or may be, just have started)
Synopsis:
1. Books read -
HeadFirst Java: For those of you who don't know about this series of books
- These books are based on Metacognition (def: analysis of one's own learning),
which in nutshell means it doesn't teach you things in conversational mode
but tricks your brain in actually learning and remembering stuff that's
important.
- More interesting and Fun to read(Trust me with this!)
- Makes basics clear
SCJP6 By Kathy and Bert: K&B are not just authors but moderators @javaranch
- Makes you you learn only the stuff that is necessary for SCJP6 exam
- Lots of practise test(back of chapter), 2 simulation tests(on CD) and 1 bonus
test downloadable from website.
2. References:
javaranch: Biggest Java community forum in the world
- Easy browsing(most of the important stuff is on dashboard)
- Quick and most Reasonable reply.
- Forums are exams(java) and technology wise.
J2SE API: "Download it", don't just browse on net
- Good layout(cos its from source)
- Dont(even try to) learn the class and all there methods just remember the way
they work in your program.
P.S. - The most important thing required for clearing SCJP6 is "PRACTISE"
Wishing you all a happy SCJP
